Artist Statement
I grew up surrounded by 1990s trance music, dance festivals, and the soft yellow blur of VHS tapes. My choreographer mother documented everything and created an archive that became the foundation of my work. STUDIO720p is where I translate those memories into analogue glitched dreamworld that is fuelled by my colourful imagination. I work with obsolete imaging devices, digitised tapes, lights, fabrics and list to the technology as much as directing it. My films explore the surreal space between memory and imagination, where mirrors distort reality and dreams reveal hidden truths.
Neptune Series
In October 2023, I co‑created Neptune Series (grassroots immersive nights built to champion and fairly pay local artists). I witnessed the power of collective consciousness in those liminal spaces where DJs, dancers, AV artists and audiences shape the atmosphere together. That sense of embodied connection anchored my approach ever since.
